Fight Drug Dealers with your Cell Phone

Cell phone users can now fight drug dealers with a simple text message and remain completely anonymous.

How it works:

1. In your message you need the word Tip and a 3 digit number for your local agency.

Agency numbers can be found at www.smscrimetips.com For instance if you live in Los Angeles your agency number is 365 so your message would begin with Tip365.

2. Your message may look something like this:

Tip365John Doe is selling drugs on the TJR campus behind the gym.

3. Text your message To: Crimes or 274637

4. Press Send

5. A few seconds later you'll receive a confirmation message:

Tip received: Your code is R719. Please reply with additional info any time.
Delete your tip for safety. Text STOP to opt out.

6. R719 is your alias code.

Text Tip agency numbers are available at www.smscrimetips.com

We don't have an excuse. Start texting and stop drug dealers.

Hmmm I really don't think its sounds totally anonymous. I say this because there's a record of the text and the text they sent to your phone.

You might get a drug dealer who has a good lawyer and who knows the ins and outs of the system and can find out the true way there client was caught you know what I mean?

Just a thought I would hate to see someone get hurt because they were trying to do the right thing you know what I mean?

sKiLLz...you're right. There is always a record...or a trail someone can follow to get to the truth. The reality of this sucks...anyway, you know. The drug dealers are only selling drugs because the addicts need the drug...its a vicious cycle.

I was trying to figure out the whole anonymous thing..supposedly, the caller identity is stripped at a central server before being sent to the police department...then you just delete the message you sent. But yeah...I'm pretty sure someone could easily figure out the phone number, address, and where the call came from fairly easily.

...and yeah...I totally agree ....I would hate to see someone get hurt because they were trying to do the right thing...
