New Suboxone Film

Remember, these?
Those nasty little orange pills? Now, suboxone comes in a new form (a thin strip) that dissolves faster and tastes better. Anyone, tried the new suboxone film/strips, yet? What do you think about them?

I'm taking the suboxone pill. I've heard about the Suboxone film, but have not tried it. I'm wondering what it is like. I just found your blog today. I've been reading it off and on all day. I am a recovering Heroin and pain pill addict. I've been on Suboxone for 1 & 1/2 years. I'm about to start decreasing. A little nervous. How did your ddaughter decreas her use? How is she doing now?

I've been on and off suboxone for about two years now. Back on it since end of april 2011...I was a daily IV heroin user for a few years. I'm 32 years old now, back in school (again) and praying I don't relapse, as I have many, many times before. I go to AA, have a sponsor, am in school full time and have a job, but sometimes the temptation is so strong...stay close with your daughter. An addict is NEVER 'out of the woods'. Recovery is a lifelong process; you will never be 'recovered'. You have to work at it every day. Good luck.

Thank you. I'm very proud of you for going to school.
My daughter is still in college. She's taking online courses because she can't deal with the stress. I worry about her sometimes but I think she's still on the right track. Good luck to you and take care.

Kristi - The link above talks about how she decreased her suboxone dose and finally stopped taking it all together. She's still doing great!

i stumbled across this blog looking for things to make the film taste better. I'm on it for pain because tehy do not want to give me the typical narcotits. The film is disgusting in my opinion. it takes a long time to dissolve, and then its a sticky gel taste for the next 25 minutes with about anything you eat.

if you are on them and have any ideas let me know, i have heard you can put a piece of candy on top of your tongue while they dissolve under it, but i cant find one strong enough.

I have heard that, mentally, you stop maturing once you become addicted. That you do not know how to deal with real life issues.

I am hoping that your daughter is still doing well. I pray that she is. Do you plan on updating anymore?

I have been reading your posts and it's nice to know you're not alone; when this addiction chooses you for the roller coaster ride, for simply loving someone. It's a hard road and I feel completely defeated. I feel so lost, so helpless.

I hope you and your family are doing well.

I to have a daughter addicted to drugs for about 11years now. It started with pills & sometime last summer she started using Herion. Since then she had lost everything her friends, her apartment , her drivers license & the most devastating our 5 yr. old grand daughter. This had wrecked our family. I get so angry with her & I cry & feel hopeless. I tried to be supportive when she try's to get help but then I see her slipping & nothing I say to her helps.
After months of her going to out pt. rehab & taking Supoxone I just started to feel more at peace in a comfort zone. Seeing more & more of the way my daughter use to be before becoming addicted.
